Radarsat Constellation Mission (RCM) Data

The RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) is Canada's new generation of Earth observation satellites. The RCM includes a trio of Earth observation satellites, capable of scanning Earth day or night and in any weather conditions. The three-satellite configuration allows for daily revisits of Canada's vast territory and maritime approaches, as well as daily access to 90% of the world's surface and the Arctic up to four times a day. Over a dozen federal government departments already use RADARSAT data to deliver important services to Canadians.

The RCM is designed to provide effective solutions in three main areas: •Maritime surveillance (ice, surface wind, oil pollution and ship monitoring); •Disaster management (mitigation, warning, response and recovery); and •Ecosystem monitoring (agriculture, wetlands, forestry and coastal change monitoring).

Certain RCM image products are freely and openly available to users outside the Government of Canada, subject to exceptions in terms of security, privacy and confidentiality. Public and vetted users can access RCM image products through the Earth Observation Data Management System at https://www.eodms-sgdot.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/index_en.jsp.

The Canadian Space Agency plans to disseminate some RCM-related resources such as acquisition plans and data packages. Consult them from this page.

The use of each RCM image product must adhere to the accompanying User Licence. Please make sure to review the terms and conditions in the available resources before downloading the data. By downloading images, you confirm your adherence to the terms and conditions of the licence.
